Islam Jaran is a violinist and music educator from Jordan, now based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He began his professional music journey early, graduating from the Jordan Academy of Music with a focus on violin and music education. He later studied at the National Conservatory of Music and the Institute of Fine Arts, where he deepened his knowledge of both classical and Arabic music.
In addition to teaching music at various schools in Denmark and abroad, Islam is the founder and artistic leader of the Nordic Arabic Orchestra, a unique project that brings together musicians from different backgrounds to explore the meeting point between Arabic music and Nordic sound traditions.
As a performer, Islam has taken part in concerts, festivals, and musical collaborations around the world, including inDenmark, Jordan, Sweden, and many other countries. He performed live at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. also has had the honor of performing for the Danish royal family, His Majesty King Frederik X, as well as for His Majesty King Abdullah II of Jordan.
Islam is recognized for his expressive violin tone, refined phrasing, and strong improvisational skills rooted in the Arabic maqam tradition. His artistic work blends traditional Arabic music with modern influences, creating a sound that is deeply rooted, yet constantly evolving.
His passion lies in performing, composing, and producing original music, inspired by Middle Eastern classics, personal expression, and cultural storytelling, while building bridges between musical traditions and connecting audiences across the globe.
